Each format calls for a different palatant strategy. Baked biscuits need heat-stable, Maillard-friendly notes that survive oven temperatures. Soft-moist treats live in a high-humectant matrix and need solvent-compatible carriers. Jerky and freeze-dried products benefit from concentrated meat distillates that read 'real protein' on the front of the nose.

Most-used profiles for Canadian pet treat brands: beef, chicken, liver, salmon, tuna, lamb, duck, turkey, peanut butter, bacon, cheese, sweet potato, pumpkin and apple. Cat-specific profiles lean heavier on fish, liver and yeast notes — cats and dogs do not share the same preference map and we formulate accordingly.

We supply documentation supporting clean-label claims, single-ingredient meat positioning, and limited-ingredient diet (LID) compatibility.

Our pet palatant range complies with AAFCO definitions and ships with full documentation for Canadian and US pet food manufacturers, including ingredient declarations, allergen statements, microbiological specs and country of origin. Two-bowl palatability data from independent canine and feline panels is available for most reference profiles, and we can commission a custom panel for a new formulation when needed.
